NO FATS, NO FEMMES: Tales of Dialing-up, Coming Out and Getting Off
No Fats, No Femmes: Tales of Dialing-up, Coming Out and Getting Off is an original solo show from the life and mind of Tim Paul. From his early pubescent discovery of dial-up pornography straight through to his adult dalliances courtesy of SCRUFF, craigslist and everything in between, Paul’s salacious stories explore the hilarious and heartbreaking world of modern love.
Tim Paul, “…uses boyish candor to blend absurdity, pathos, and graphic sex in ways that are deeply humanizing.” Justin Hayford, Chicago Reader

The Dublin Gay Theatre Festival is an annual event, celebrating contribution of gay people to theatre, past and present. The Festival was founded in 2004 to mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of Oscar Wilde, in his native city. With an emphasis on new or recent international and Irish works with a broadly gay theme or relevance, the Festival has grown to become the largest event of its type in the world. The Festival creates new opportunities for visibility and affirmation for existing and emerging gay artists and theatrical works. The Festival’s criteria for inclusion into the programme are broadly interpreted to include works by gay writers, works that have a gay relevance or theme, or works that include either performance or another artistic contribution by gay people.Participation and attendance is open to all who wish to witness and acknowledge the immense contribution of gay people to theatre in all its forms.
No Fats, No Femmes debuted last summer at the Annoyance Theatre (Chicago) under the original direction of Katie Caussin. At the time, it was a completely self-produced venture, where I covered the cost of the theatre rental, programs, posters, postcards and publicity photos myself, as well as compensation for the Director and Stage Manager. This show is an extremely personal project, a labor of love and all the money raised from this Kickstarter will go towards show expenses for the future, most notably getting No Fats, No Femmes to the 2012 International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival. (Airfare & Hotel for myself and my crew, Posters, website, postcards, etc.)
However, if we can raise more we can cover future runs in Chicago and hopefully a city near you!
